Civic Futures & Imagination

Designing the conditions for democratic, healing-centered futures

Civic Season, Smithsonian National Museum of American History, Made By Us, “Wish Wall” (June/July 2025)

Overview

I came of age during a renewed era of protest—the women’s movement, the climate strikes of the 2010s, and youth-led calls for systemic change. Studying Culture & Politics at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service deepened my understanding of how civic life, cultural narratives, and policy shape one another. After a year working abroad, I returned to the U.S. with a desire to strengthen my own civic muscle —starting locally as an election judge in the 2025 election.

That personal commitment to democratic participation has since evolved into a body of work that bridges civic innovation with healing-centered design. I create frameworks, dialogues, and learning experiences that help communities, institutions, and changemakers imagine — and actively build — futures rooted in dignity, trust, and shared purpose. From futures-focused civic dialogues to imagination-led learning design, my work aims to ensure that how we envision the future addresses not just governance or policy, but the underlying human conditions that make thriving possible.
